Delta Sigma Chapter History

Chapter Information

Beta Theta Pi has an extensive history on the UCI campus. The Delta Sigma Chapter of Beta Theta Pi began on March 9th, 1975 as the first fraternity at UC Irvine. The proud men of this chapter excelled in academics and athletics for many years. Following a shift in the national fraternity's mission, the chapter was reorganized under the Men of Principle Initiative in 2002. After this reorganization was complete, the Chapter reopened as a Men of Principle Colony in April 2005.

It has now been four years since the Chapter's reorganization. During that time, it has established itself as a prominent part of campus. Through their dedication to the Men of Principle initiative, the brothers of the Delta Sigma Chapter have become a part of the UC Irvine student life. The Chapter holds a variety of events every year, including the annual Dragon Skate Race philanthropy, the annual Beta Formal (Beta Rose) at the top of the Stratosphere Tower at Las Vegas, sorority mixers and exchanges, volunteer opportunities, leadership development programs... the list goes on. The four years of excellence on the UC Irvine campus have earned Delta Sigma its charter back on August 8th, 2008 to become, once again, an officially recognized fraternity at UCI. The brothers of the Delta Sigma Chapter are seeking out great men to join a hallowed tradition of excellence and continue to make an impact on greek life at UC Irvine. With the following goals of the Men of Principle Initiative as their guide, the brothers of Beta Theta Pi look forward to bringing out the Beta in every great man on campus.
