Organization
Beta Theta Pi believes in self governance. However, self governance only applies so long as the active chapter can demonstrate that it can take the responsibility to govern itself. If it can't, then a higher authority (i.e., the University or the General Fraternity) will have to step in and take measures to rectify the problem. With this in mind, the Delta Sigma Chapter is organized in the following manner which helps to ensure that we stay a self-governing chapter:
Executive Board
The core leadership of the Delta Sigma Chapter consists of eight members
called the Executive Board. The primary function of the
Executive Board is to ensure that the policies and bylaws passed by
the active chapter are carried out and that the chapter follows the
Code of Beta Theta Pi and its risk management policy. The Executive
Board members are generally well respected and must be on good standing
(current with dues, above a 2.8 GPA). Board members are elected by the
active chapter for one year terms. The positions are as follows:
President
Vice President
Communications Executive
Risk Manager
Pledge Educator
Recruitment Chairman
Scholarship Chairman
Treasurer
Kai Committee
Kai Committee is made up of four active members and represent the
judiciary component of the chapter. Kai Committee ensures that the
members of the Delta Sigma Chapter are held accountable for their actions
and have the authority to discipline the membership. The committee is
made up of one elected member from each class: one freshman, one sophomore, one
junior, and one senior.
Chairmen (Non-Exec Board)
The chairmen are another key component of this organization.
The Delta Sigma Chapter operates much like a regular business.
The chairmen are the brothers in charge of planning our sporting,
philanthropic, and alumni events as well as ensuring that the chapter
functions properly in its everyday activities and rituals.

Active Chapter
The active chapter is both the legislative body and the constituency.
The active chapter has the right to enact bylaws and policies as they
see fit so long as fits within the confines of federal and state laws,
University of California, Irvine policy, and the Code of Beta Theta Pi.
With this right the chapter can chart it own destiny and pave the way
so that future Delta Sigma's can inherit a fraternity stronger and better than it once was.
Advisors and the General Fraternity
The active chapter has several advisors that give guidance and feedback
to the active chapter so that it can make well informed decisions.
Advisors are alumni of Beta Theta Pi and/or come from the General Fraternity.
